Stirrin' Blog

York 22nd-24th September 2006

York is a stunning city and has a really well organised food festival which continues into next week. Stirrin’stuff helped Kirk (a local chef) and a class of children from Westfield primary school to cook a VIP lunch for the lady, Lord Mayor of York and her guests, in the historic Guildhall - it was brilliant. Lots of carrot chopping and the teachers got stuck in too, they helped to make pancakes, and even the Lord Mayor had a go.

On Sunday Stirrin’Stuff ran 4½ hours of continuous cookery workshops, again in the 15thC Guildhall. The only break was when Xander rushed off to wash the Magimix (kindly donated by Magimix UK), in between the sessions. There were 6 other cooking stations and the children had a day of acquiring simple cookery skills and exciting taste buds.
