Notre Dame October 26th
Stirrin’stuff was invited to do interactive demonstrations at Notre Dame High school in central Glasgow in partnership with Quality Meat Scotland. Isobel Anne the educational office for QMS stressed the importance of protein and iron in diets, with an emphasis on iron for growing teenage girls. She also discussed assured quality and meat cuts. Fi demonstrated quick and affordable recipes using lamb, beef and pork. The home economics department could not have made us more welcome -the head of department offered a bed (to avoid a hotel one!) for any subsequent visits. The school has a £2000 ingredient budget so a day working in partnership with QMS (£57 budget for the meat alone) makes good mathematical sense and hopefully stirred in some fun into the bargain.
